Bella: The Story of Mrs Beeton

Actress Alison Neil’s one-woman play about the life of Mrs Beeton is a humorous tale of the landmarks and relationships that shaped her short life – she died at just twenty-eight of puerperal fever.

The eldest of twenty one children who lived in the grandstand at Epsom Race Course, she led an eccentric life, quite different to the picture of domestic bliss her classic image portrays.

"The Story of Mrs Beeton is both highly entertaining from start to finish and fascinating in its content…Forget the cookery, but don’t miss the play." The Oxford Times
